Steve responds to an email from a listener who just inherited $100,000 and wants to know how to invest it. Then, Steve interviews David Zetland, author of, ‘The End of Abundance.’ Is climate change real and man made, and if so what can sensibly be done about it? Finally, Steve talks about what contributes to making some children more successful than others and explores whether you are more likely to raise successful kids if you are a child-driving tiger Mom or Dad, or more of a free-range parent.

David Zetland’s problem is that what he’s talking about won’t fit on a bumper sticker. Other than that I think he has some very cogent observations and valuable solutions proposed. But it’s all wasted on the vast majority of humanity who simply want to be sure they are grinding their neighbors under their foot rather than the reverse. I especially like the idea of a gas tax. After all, the more you drive or the larger the vehicle you drive – the more you contribute to the need for road maintenance and building. Correspondingly, you pay more in tax. Why should someone who only rides a bicycle pay for roads?
