Starting at about the end of World War II in 1945, more and more people began to acquire things. Lower prices and easy availability put more and more products within reach of consumers. Technology generated more goodies, tools and toys for people to buy. But recent studies show that things do not provide the satisfaction that experiences can provide. Worse, all those things and the debt and responsibility associated with them seem to cause stress, upset and exhaustion.
