Don Barrett of laradio.com, the good John Phillips of KABC and Tomm Looney from Fox Sports Radio all dropped by with their favorite memories of Dan Avey and his illustrious radio career. Rob Marinko, Regan Burns, Sharon the Gossip Mom and Dina Losito all fondly remembered the good, the sad and the crazy ass stories that made Dan Avey a legend. You are and always will be, our friend.

It is with great sadness, we learned that our friend, Dan Avey passed away Sunday afternoon at Cedars Sinai Hospital. The former voice of the Los Angeles Kings, KFWB anchor for decades, professor at USC and Cal State Northridge, recipient of over 15 Golden Mikes, co-host of the KABC morning show with Ken Minyard, and a recipient of a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, died quietly with his family at his bedside shortly after noon Sunday. He was 69.
