When it comes to FILMS WITH THE SUBJECT OF DREAMS AS A MAJOR BACKDROP, there’s only one that gets it right at every “level” and that’s the 2010 heist thriller “Inception”. Directed by “Dark Knight” helmsman Christopher Nolan, it features an all-star cast who deliver peak performances (Leonardo DiCaprio and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, especially). Not only what is the most well-crafted take on the subject, but it explored the phenomenon of dreams within dreams, a dynamic I feel was an improvement on its 1984 predecessor “Dreamscape”. And what I liked most about the movie was how it established a focused and deliberate tone early on and maintained it throughout its entire mission.
Time for the PPTA show. Everything Paul Thomas Anderson and The Master. IT SUCKED ASS!

As a twenty-year fan of Marc Germain and all his “Mr. K” manifestations on terrestrial radio, I was thrilled to discover he had resurrected his career on the internet. I’ve been enjoying his new uncensored format for almost two years now and for the past seven months my S & E/E & R withdrawals were finally pacified when I gave The Film Fustians program a listen. It never ceases to amaze me how a nearly three-hour movie review show, where you can’t even see the clips being played actually holds my attention, but with your collective knowledge of both the creative and business ends of the industry, and your ability to deliver the right energy with every show, you really make it work. Max, your infectious giggle as you jab movie mediocrity and absurdity always makes me laugh. Please keep giving us entertaining programming, gentlemen, and I’ll keep donating what I can to TRO.
